My parents are leaving for Florida today, so we went over to visit them.  My mom got to feed Rose one more time before they left.

Rose loves to lay on the floor and play in the morning after her bottle, so I thought I’d whip out the new camera and take some pictures!

You can tell she’s not quite sure of the camera at this point.

Still not quite sure.

Ok, she likes it.

Whatcha thinkin’, Rose?

You love your momma?

Booger check — You’re clear!

Rose hung out with her grandma, aunt Hay-hay and great grandparents later on today before they headed back to Indy.  We miss them already. :(

My aunt, Laura, my uncle, Vince, and my cousins, Kaitlynn and Natalie, came to visit for the baptism. Kaitlynn and Natalie were so cute with Rose. We hung out this morning at my grandma’s. My mom came over later and hung out, too.

Rose became one of Jesus’ people today. Behold, the world’s newest Catholic:

She’s looked like an 1800s baby, minus the binkie.

And, the cast of characters, starting with the God parents…

My brother and sister-in-law

My brother and I

Of course, the reason Rose was even celebrating her baptism – Tommy and I

Us with the God parents

Us with my grandma

There is no baptism without a priest.

The Pugh Family

The Zeles Family

The Pugh/Roseman Families

And, last, but not least; The Anderson Family

Just to note — Rose did not cry ONCE during the whole entire ceremony — water on the head and all. She slept and when she was awake, she was smiling and looking around quietly. God, I love that kid.

My little baby girl is starting to grow up. Lately, she’s enjoyed being by herself on the floor cooing and smiling much more than be held and cuddled. Below are my attempts to get Rose to smile at the camera and coo like she does at home, but alas, she had some stage fright. Hopefully in the next few days, I’ll get her to do it.

First, we played on the playgym this morning.

Then, we practiced on the Bumbo.

Rose actually laughed at me for the first time ever when I was taking her picture in the Bumbo. Apparently, two-month olds find me funny. At least someone does!

I wore her out.

Tommy,

I just wanted to write a quick note to let you know what a great Daddy you are and to let you know how much Rose and I love you!  It melts my heart everytime I see Rose’s eyes light up when you enter a room or say her name.  You could have easily allowed me to do all/most of the duties it takes to keep Rose happy and instead you’ve helped me out tremendously and stepped up to taking care of Rose.  Because of that, she loves you with all of her heart, as do I, and I know she’ll be a much better person because of your example.  You’ve helped my transition into motherhood be a smooth one with your help and I could never thank you enough for that.  Just a year ago, we were standing on an alter saying our vows and here a year later, we’re getting ready to celebrate your first Father’s Day with our two month old daughter.  Life sure has done a 360 for the better.   I knew when I married you you would become an excellent father, but you’re even more excellent than I ever had imagined.  I’m so proud of you and the man that you are and I’m glad our daughter will have you as an example as to what a caring, gentle and sensitive man really is.  I love you with all my heart,

Joanie

“I’m here for my 2 month pictures, dawling!”

“Be a dear, and grab the milk and caviar.”

“What?! You don’t have caviar?!?”

“Oh!! The shame!!”

“I guess milk will do.”

“Hmmm… I wonder what that says…”

“Rose Marie? Whose that?…  That’s me?!”

“Would someone please bring me my damn bottle of milk!!”

“I guess the binky will have to do.”

“I will remember this when you’re 85 and peeing through your diapers daily demanding to be fed. We’ll see whose laughing then!”

“Quit singing that stupid song to try and make me feel better!”

“…It’s not…working…”

“Ok, Mommy! You win. You do make me happy!”

Then…

Now…

Then…

Now…

“I’m a happy baby!”
